Lamb chops, apricots, Jeremiah, 10:25 am and other interesting things, perhaps?

Dave and I have started watching what we eat. So far I've watched shrimp scampi, pork chops, loaded stuffed chicken, lamb chops, asparagus with hollandaise, and other yummy stuff like blueberry muffins.

We've just returned from Washington state, the desert side. Where the mountains stop all the incoming Seattle influenced rain. No rain all week. Beautiful weather. Awesome family that loved Isaac...and us, uhmm, too. ;) What a nice get away. Dave's parents had apricots the size of lemons on their tree in the backyard (I really wanted to sing those last 4 words).

Upon returning, even though all laundry is clean, I find myself overwhelmed with "getting back into 'normal' life". I feel out of place somehow even in my own home; I feel like it's the place we're visiting almost. Sad. Very. So, I've started to read my "daily" Bible reading again, which isn't a daily thing at all now. Why stop now when it's SO needed and anyway, who says I really have to read it all in only 1 year. Although, that being said, I'm still trying for a year. And, I said all that to say that I've just started reading Jeremiah. I'm interested in reading again about him and finding out just what it was that people thought reminded them of Jesus. In the New Testament some of the people thought he was John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. I think that will be motivation enough to get me through, b/c I sure get mad at those "stupid" Israelites prostituting themselves all around (as if I'm not the total mirroring of that metaphorically) and want to stop reading about it.

Now that we're home and almost back on schedule...I overslept until 10:25 am on this bright, beautiful and humid Sunday morning, and I have no idea how long Isaac was awake until he started rhythmically chanting at me to wake me up to get his "mil" and "nana" for breakfast. OH MY!!! We did, amazingly enough, make it to the building for communion just as the prayer was being said for the bread. wow. I hope we (I), get into a better routine before school starts...Oh, wait...God has blessed me with getting to stay home among other things. Ummm...that would be Everything!

Hope peace and all lovely things stay in your thoughts.

We wish you could come more often and stay longer!
(that reminds me of what one of the African workers said to me the first time I visited Togo: Ah-- Grandmere: come often and stay long!)
so I echo those sentiments to you.
Of course, today it was 103 - but no humidity:-)
Love and miss you all three!
